So, some months ago I had a moment of madness and decided to sign up for the Het BigBang/LittleBang challenge. I had been toying around with a Haven fic and said to myself, "Self, why not, in the midst of the craziest work months of the year, write at least 10,000 words?" Well, I did it. I'm pretty proud of the fact that I wrote over nearly 12,000 words of a mostly coherent fic seeing as I haven't written anything remotely fandom-related in a long time, but here it is:

Title: I Put A Spell On You
Fandom: Haven
Pairing: Audrey Parker/Nathan Wuornos, Audrey Parker/Duke Crocker
Rating: General Audiences
A/N: A huge thank you to tempusborealis who did a super quick beta for me. Any and all mistakes left behind are mine.
Summary: Audrey Parker finds herself in the middle of a love-triangle. Now if she can only find her way out of it... Season 1 AU.

Everyone should check out all the other great fics for the HetBigBang, too! Over 50 fics in 40 fandoms - lots of great reading to go around! Check out the masterlist here!

Huh?
Was anyone else confused by NCIS: LA's season finale?

I liked the suspense (although toward the end I was yelling at the TV 'Just spill it already!'), but I was just confused by the final revelation.

Do I really have to wait until September for an explanation? :(

I did something that I swore I would never do....I started watching Supernatural. *hangs head in shame*

I blame it entirely on this fic: Corner of Your Eye  and this man:

So, I don't know if anyone on my f-list is involved in the Supernatural fandom, but does anyone have any great fic recs (non-slash)?

Title: The Fair Folk
Characters: The team, Elizabeth, OC
Rating: PG
Summary: John wanders off during a recon mission to the bemusement of the team. But his disappearance may not be what it appears.
A/N: Since it's WIP Amnesty week, I thought I'd pitch in with one or two fics that don't appear to be going anywhere. :)

Honey, I'm home!

Phew, it's been almost eight months since I posted anything on my own page....How time flies when you're trying to get your life back on track! :) I wouldn't say I'm there yet, but I'm working on it, slowly but surely.

On the fandom front, I haven't done a ton of writing, although I've bounced back and forth between a number of fandoms in the interim: Alice, Band of Brothers, Tin Man, Life, The Middleman, Merlin, Big Bang Theory, and, most recently, Leverage. But I still have a number of SGA fics sitting on my hard drive that I've been meaning to finish.

Anyhow, here is another installment of 'SGA AU's I'd Never Even Think of Writing'. Apologies if the writing is rusty...it's been awhile. :)

Title: SGA AU's I'd Never Even Think of Writing 6/10: Circle of Magic
Characters: John, Teyla, Rodney, Ronon, and mentions of Jack and Sam
Rating: PG
A/N about the original fandom: Circle of Magic is a young adult fantasy series by Tamora Pierce about four teenagers with elemental magic who are raised together as foster siblings while they are taught to control their gifts. This is sort of a reimagining of the four as adults...I hope that made sense. :D

Happy Independence Day!
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Fourth of July!

Yesterday the greatest question was decided which ever was debated in America; and a greater perhaps never was, nor will be, decided among men. A resolution was passed without one dissenting colony, "that these United Colonies are, and of right ought to be, free and independent States."
- John Adams, on the decision to proclaim independence from British rule, which was made on 2 July 1776, in a letter to Abigail Adams

You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness.  You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.  ~Erma Bombeck

Written for the team_sga  AU ficathon...

Title: Someone Else's Story
Rating: PG-13 for a bad word or two
Prompt: From </a></b></a>tielan: An AU where the character roles are all mixed up. So, say, John's from Athos, Teyla's a Runner, Ronon's a scientist, and Rodney's military - or any combination thereof. But they should still be recognisably them in personality, even if their backgrounds and abilities are entirely different.
Warnings: None
Disclaimer: I don't own. Please don't sue.
Summary: All roads lead to one destination.
A/N: Another version of this story might appear, because even though I didn't have as much time as I wanted to flesh out all the possibilities, I really enjoyed doing this. A huge thank you to the wonderful mods for organizing this ficathon and for being so flexible and understanding! This has probably been the most hectic few months to try to participate in a ficathon, and I can't even begin to say how much I appreciate their hard work and flexibility in the matter. Thank you!!

Long ago, in someone else's story, someone with my name who looked a lot like me....Collapse )

Keanu Reeves as Spike in Cowboy Bebop Live-Action Movie?

I will hurt someone if this happens. Seriously.

Thank goodness it's just a rumor.
